I love it! My tree looked much the same…we had 7 little ones from crawlers to 4 yr. olds in our house this year and the little cousins all helped decorate the tree…it was very middle heavy! Not a lot on the bottom or the top:)). They even discovered ornaments with pictures of moms and dads and aunts and uncles when they were little…so fun! Thanks for this post…so full of truth!

Love your story! So glad that you were able to just enjoy decorating the tree with your little ones, and not worry about it being “perfect”. Those memories are priceless!

Kristen, thank you for this adorable video! Just gave me such a feeling of “I can relax!” So, wanted to thank you for that.
Also, a question: I would love to know how do you create all your worksheets with graphics? Do you draw them yourself? How do you get them to look so professional?
I know you’re busy with 4 boys(!), so appreciate any comments you have time to share! Thanks!

You’re welcome! So glad you feel like you can relax.
Can’t share all my secrets, lol. But I can tell you that it takes a lot of time and practice to create the worksheets. I’m glad they are helpful. Hopefully they save you some time!

My husband and I were living in one of the most highly sought after areas of the city. We had an amazing garden landscape and a cute little house. Should have been perfect! But my work disabled husband was starting to struggle with all the stairs. The city was getting busier with lots of traffic. Droves of people were passing by , often wandering onto the lawn and stomping down the gardens on their way to the recently established restaurants, breweries, festivals, and art galleries nearby. The landscape was getting harder to maintain alone, and taxes were going sky high! We could have remodeled it to suit us better, but we bought a well built, “flipped” rambler home ( with basement) in the suburbs just 2 minutes away from where I work-used to be a 35 minute drive. At an age where people downsize, we bought a bigger house on a bigger lot! But, our taxes and most of our bills are cut in half! The place looks like new. My husband can live on one level. It’s quiet. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. The wildlife, trees, and views from the big picture windows are beautiful and relaxing. We got rid of over half our possessions in the move, so I guess we sort of downsized like one is supposed to at our age. All that matters is this has been perfect for us! We’ve never been happier!

Love it, Kristin! I also have four sons, now grown and with children of their own; our tree this year was loaded with the photo ornaments of our grandchildren which I make each year – it’s quite a collection! With two cats in our household, we place unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of our tree!
