Kids need lots of practice to learn their notes. Using a variety of activities can give them that practice while maintaining their interest.
Catch Bigfoot is a fun worksheet you can use during a lesson. It’s a quick activity that won’t take up too much lesson time.
To use this worksheet, print it out and then set a goal with the child. Tell him that in order to catch Bigfoot, he has to quickly name all the notes before the time is up. You’ll write the goal in the box provided and then, when you say go and start the timer, the student will quickly write in the note names on the footprints. There’s no time for counting lines and spaces if you’re going to catch Bigfoot!
This PDF contains two treble clef worksheets so that you can present the notes in a different sequence if you’d like.

I’d love to see this on the bass clef, which is where most of my beginning students’ problems lie.

Thanks for your comment, Julie. I love when teachers give me ideas for more resources that would be helpful. In this case, there actually already is a game for the bass clef. You can access it here: https://www.myfunpianostudio.com/bass-clef-notes-worksheet-catch-bigfoot/
