Why is this a crazy song? Because it’s going to sound crazy!
The primary purpose of this activity is to review notes. The teacher or parent selects about five notes that the child is learning or needs extra practice with.
Once you’ve identified the notes for the child, give him 3 minutes to quickly write a “crazy song” by drawing in the notes on this composition page. Explain that the child must use each note at least once.
The activity continues to give the child practice reading and playing the notes. The child takes his composition sheet to the piano and plays his crazy song for you. Remind him before it starts that it’s probably going to sound crazy.
This should be a fun and quick way to give the child practice with music notes!
