Games are the very best way to teach kids certain piano concepts. You can create a giant staff to use when teaching kids to read music.
Create your giant staff on the reverse side of a Twister mat. I used painter’s tape to make the lines.
Your board doesn’t have to be perfect and can be made quickly. If you’d like some guidance, you can follow what I did. I left about 3 inches between the top of the mat and my first line. There are about 10 inches between each line.
I printed out a picture of a treble clef and a bass clef and I set one of these next to the mat to indicate which clef we’re working on.
There are tons of games you can play with a giant staff. I’ll post some of my games, so check back soon!
What fun games can you think of? If you have any ideas for how to use a giant staff, we’d all love to hear them! You’re welcome post your game ideas below in the comments section.
